Camp HOPE America is the only evidence-based camping model in the United States focused on youth who have been exposed to domestic violence and other forms of trauma. Camp HOPE America is involved in an annual research study through the University of Oklahoma to measure Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and hope levels in the lives of our campers. Through this research, we have been able to acquire proof that after a week of camp involving our values and hope-centered curriculum, along with challenging activities and intentional affirmations, the hope in our campers increased significantly.
Family Justice Centers, Multi-Agency Centers, and community-based agencies can now affiliate with Camp HOPE America, where they gain access to our evidence-based program and receive support from our highly experienced team. Without a background in camping, mentoring, or programming, operating a camping program for children exposed to trauma can be an extremely overwhelming feat. Our affiliation process will alleviate the stress and complexity of starting a new camping program in your community and will allow Family Justice Centers, Multi-Agency Centers, and community-based agencies to reap all of the benefits of camp in your community!
In partnership with the Verizon Foundation, Camp HOPE America has created an affiliation process. Communities across the country now have the opportunity to run their own Camp HOPE America programs with our evidence-based curriculum, technical assistance, training model, and program support. Prices vary depending on the level of affiliation. If you are interested in becoming a part of the Camp HOPE America family and changing the way that youth impacted by domestic violence and related trauma think about themselves, others, and their dreams, please contact camphope@allianceforhope.com to schedule an informational phone call. We greatly look forward to speaking with you and assisting you in any way that we can to help bring the power of Camp HOPE America to youth in your community.
