The subject of human trafficking, or the use of force, fraud or coercion to transport persons across international borders or within countries to exploit them for labor or sex, has received renewed attention within the last two decades. Jill Morris, the Managing Director of Not for Sale (www.notforsalecampaign.org) will provide a general overview of and cover key concepts on human trafficking, including special needs of victims of human trafficking, their life experiences, and their trafficking trajectories. Jill will also discuss considerations in developing a close working relationship between human trafficking advocates and Family Justice Centers and other community-based collaborative service models in order to provide more efficient services to victims. At the conclusion of the training, advocates, law enforcement officers, attorneys, prosecutors, and other multi-disciplinary family violence professionals will be provided with the necessary knowledge and tools to successfully interact with and provide services to victims of human trafficking.
