Camp HOPE America – Oklahoma, Family Safety Center makes sure to implement activities throughout the year to help their campers continue building a postive community of friends and mentors even after camp. “Camp HOPE America—Oklahoma, Family Safety Center is so grateful for having a successful week of Camp HOPE America in 2017. We had the opportunity to collaborate with Camp HOPE America—Oklahoma, Palomar on an incredible week and having the opportunity for Camp HOPE America staff to attend was invaluable. We appreciate their support in providing a fun and healing week for our campers! Our partnership with the YMCA of Greater Tulsa at Camp Takatoka has proven to be strong as ever! Partnering with the YMCA has been essential in providing a safe environment for our campers to feel empowered and see hope in their futures.
We have remarkable things happening in 2018! Our Winterfest event for the holidays took us to the YMCA for food, door prizes, and BICYCLES! Yes, that is right…every child got a bike thanks to Public Service Company of Oklahoma, and Safe Kids-Tulsa provided helmets. The fun continued as we took the bus downtown to ice skate and have hot cocoa at Tulsa’s annual Winterfest event.
January was an imaginative month as Crayon’s Improv came to perform! Crayon’s is a family-friendly improv group here in Tulsa, they were AWESOME! Our families had the opportunity to suggest scenes, locations, and give random words or phrases that the comedians used in their skits. It was great seeing everyone laughing and smiling together! Afterward, families enjoyed free time in the YMCA’s newly renovated Tandy YMCA pool.”
