Camp HOPE America staff are so proud of Alek Gastellum! Yesterday, Alek became the first San Diego Pathways to HOPE Project participant to receive his $1,500 Verizon Foundation College Stipend to attend Grossmont College! Alek has participated in our year-round mentoring program for two years and just started college yesterday! He served as a counselor for a Camp HOPE Classic Week (7-11 year olds) for the first time this summer. Alek wants to be a psychologist and help other kids and adults impacted by violence and abuse. Way to go, Alek. We are so proud of you! The Verizon Foundation
